Sunak to face PMQs after inflation drops to 2.3%<\/p>\n

Rishi Sunak has already hailed the fall in \nthe headline inflation rate this morning, from 3.2% to 2.3%, as a major \nmilestone for the UK, and he is likely to trumpet it as many times as he can in \ntoday\u2019s PMQs.<\/p>\n
He says inflation being \u201cback to normal\u201d is \n\u201can important moment for our country” and adds that he believes it shows “our plan is working\u201d.<\/p>\n
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer is likely to \nsound unimpressed. Shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves has said: “After 14 years \nof Conservative chaos, families are worse off. Prices in the shops have soared, \nmortgage bills have risen and taxes are at a 70-year high.”<\/p>\n
Another highlight should come when \nConservative MP Craig Mackinlay returns to Parliament for the first time since \nlosing his hands and feet to sepsis.<\/p>\n
His wife Kati and daughter will watch his \nappearance at PMQs from the public gallery. It’s a moment that will also likely be marked by \nSunak and Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle.<\/p>\n
Mackinlay says he wants to be known as the \nfirst “bionic MP” after being fitted with prosthetic legs and hands.<\/p>\n
